We have been working about the nobel prizes and we have analyzed 6 different subjects like physics, chemistry, literature, peace, economics and physiology and medicine. One of these subjects has drawn my attention: peace; especially the woman called Shirin Ebadi.

This woman is an Iranian lawyer, a former judge and human rights activist and founder of Defenders of Human Rights Center in Iran. She was awarded on 2003 because of her efforts for democracy and human rights, especially women's, children's, and refugee rights. Shirin Ebadi was the first ever Iranian to receive the prize.

I like this woman because when she received the prize lot of people criticized her because she turned up to the ceremony without cover the hair, as imposed by Iranian law and because she defended the homosexuality. She also received threats because she was defending some agents of C.I.A. and after all this, in 2008, the Centre of Defenders of Human Rights, directed by her, was closed, which provoked international condemnation.

But I think that in Iran, the human rights of women and children weren't very advanced, but this woman, fought to improve this human rights and she got it. After this, the human rights were better but they still should be better.

Autumn in New York

Hello!! Here I have published a story done in class. We've done in pairs 6 different stories; each pair has started writing their story and then the other pairs continued with it. I hope you will like this romantic story!

AUTUMN IN NEW YORK

Everything was new here. I noticed that autumn was in the streets of New York. I had taken a coffee and I was in my way of work. I moved to New York two weeks ago for work. I worked in a skyscraper, I lived in a small apartment, but it was very nice because it was in the centre of the city. I didn’t know anybody, but that night a colleague told me to go out to a party to meet people.

I didn’t have anything better to do so I went to have a good time. I met there a 25 year-old boy with blue eyes and brown hair. He was so handsome that when I saw him I felt very shy. His name was Stephan, and when he saw me he invited me to dance with him a reggaeton dance. First of all, I said no to the invitation but after talking to each other, I took confidence with him and suddenly I accepted.

While we were dancing, my mobile phone started to ring; my friend of the residence was calling me but I didn’t answer him with the fear of losing Stephan. However, my friend continued calling me and finally I answer him. He was frightened and he spoke quickly with a flickering voice, so that I could’t understand him. I left the party because I was realizing that something wrong happened to my friend, and with the intention of helping him, I went running to the residence.

When I arrived there, I saw all the residence untidy; all the clothes were on the floor, with the books and films we had, and my friend told me that someone got into the apartment and stole all the money and the expensive things we had. He also said to me that the person who stole in the apartment threatened him. We were frightened, so we went to sleep. The next day, Stephan called me because he was worried about her, I told what happened and I told him to met at the afternoon to speak about what had happened with more details.

I was in the third street with the first avenue, right on the Time Square centre. The accorded hour was near only 2 minutes. When the Times Square bell finally rang, I saw him running towards me. He seemed worried about something. We started speaking and he didn’t stop looking at all directions. When our meeting finished, he didn’t say me anything more, he gave me a kiss and he said me that he would call me as soon as he could. I didn’t saw him anymore.

I was depressed because I didn’t know about Stephan. I thought he didn’t fell in love with me and he was a robber, but I removed the idea. I was really fell in love with Stephan. Two weeks later I saw Stephan in the Time Square centre with another three girls. I started crying. Stephan saw me and he started laughing and he kissed one of the girls. At that moment I took a bravery. I went to Stephan and I stroked him.

I realized that Stephan wasn’t worth and I thought to continue my life without him. I decided to live the boys a side and I centred on my work until I met Jorge. I met him in a job interview and I realized that he was different. Now, after 2 years, I’m living with him in my flat. We’re deciding to buy a comfortable house apart the centre of New York and we’re going to marry in the next month.

You know that nowadays is the commonest to have your own website or websites to communicate all around the world (tuenti, facebook, instagram, twitter, myspace, whatsapp...). Those websites have a lot of positive things but not only positive, it has negative things that in a future would affect you in a negative way.

Firstly, I will comment you the positive things. The world of the websites is strongly spread all around the world and it facilitates the communication between two people or more than two (groups), also if you have friends from other parts of the world. Moreover, you can publish your own things like photos or information but if you only want your friends to see them, you can put your page private. Also, if you're a fan of sports, you are able to follow the matches or the competitions over twitter.

Now, you know clearly the positive things but it is the time to tell you the negative things. On the one hand, if your page isn't private, any strange person can see your photos or your things that are published and the account that you have could be blackmailed.

On the other hand, nowadays there are cases of ciberbulling and for this reason, we have to use properly this type of pages. But not only ciberbulling cases, there are also people that pretend to be young teenagers and then, chat with other teenagers. This cases can be very dangerous and we have to use properly.

Above all, we have to know clearly who our traditional friends or websites friends are because there are differences between them.

TRAVELLING AROUND THE WORLD

Do you like to travel all around the world?

If you like but if you don't have time or money, this will be your opportunity. In this post, I will show you my favorite places and you will see that you would like to go to them.

One of my favorite place is Essaouira. Essaouira is a city of Morocco and is located on the Atlantic coast. Is one of my favourite because it's different to the other cultures and the way of life that they have is special. 

As I have said, is located on the Atlantic coast, so it has a beautiful beach where you can relax while you're sunbathing.

I'm sure that if you go there, you will go back soon.

Another city that I will recommend you is Punta Cana. Punta Cana is the province of the Dominican Republic and the area is best known for its beaches and spa's, also it has been a popular tourist destination since the 1970s. The average temperature of it is of 30ºC, because of this, I have passed all my vacancies in the luxurious beaches.

I have learnt to dance "bachata", "merengue" and other types of dance and I have done a lot of activities like "snorkeling", "safari"...

The people are very friendly and they help if you have any problem.

If you go, you will not regret!
